Matt and I met at a singles dance in Houston on July 8th 2005. He had just moved there about a month before, and I was visiting family for the 4th of July.
We planned to go out on a date the next morning before I had to make the 8 hour trip back home. But not long after he picked me up there was a freak rain storm and a car wreck. I was the only one with any injury: a black eye from the air bag.
It was only 15 days later that we were engaged. Matt wasn't planning on proposing so soon. But when he did, I really surprised him by actually saying yes.
